Uncomplicated Determination of Energy Flow with Clamp-On-Transducers
In times of rising energy prices and environmental regulations, optimization of energy flow is a most crucial issue. From heat delivery between central heating plants to end users or heat transfer flows in industrial processes: controlling and balancing the flow of energy is of utmost importance for cost conscious users.
Fluxux BTU allows the easy determination of the energy flow in a system.
With temperature measurements made at the inlet and at the outlet of a system as well as flow measurement at the outlet , Fluxus calculates the energy flow within that system. All this is done with temperature and flow measurement devices mounted on the outside of a pipe.
Fluxus will display the actual energy flow through the system, and if needed, totalize the heat flow in order to obtain the energy quantity.
The values can easily be transmitted to a PC for display and analysis. The data obtained can be used for energy flow balancing or it can be transmitted to a process control system.

Non-Intrusive Thermal Energy Metering for Hot Water
Introducing the new wave in flow measurement of extreme temperature processes. Providing a non-intrusive clamp-on flow measurement that exceeds the competition in extreme temperature measurement up to 752°F while utilizing standard transducers and creating permanent installations using foil and coupling pads as opposed to using high temperature coupling grease.
The WaveInjector® is a special transducer mounting fixture for clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement. It allows continuous measurement with the standard FLEXIM transducers at temperatures as high as 752°F, even in an explosive atmosphere. Since the transducers are clamp-on, no cutting of the pipe is necessary for installation and the measurement can be added to an existing installation without process interruption.
A typical application of the WaveInjector is flow measurement in the thermal energy (HVAC) market at process temperatures over 250°F. Volumetric flow measurement of high temperature hot water is another frequent application.
A WaveInjector is composed of the WaveInjector coupling plate (1), the transducers clamping fixtures (2), a pipe mounting clamp (3), together with an acoustic coupling foil. The metallic coupling plate between the transducer (4) and the pipe provides nearly loss-free ultrasonic coupling.
At the same time, its cooling effect maintains a temperature gradient between the surface of the pipe and the coupling surface of the transducer. This guarantees that the maximum permissible transducer temperature is never exceeded.
